For Blue Ridge Creek, Flagstone Woods, Summerland Park, Turnberry at the Park, and Waterman Crossing families:

Hamilton Southeastern Schools serves a dynamic community that continues to experience residential growth. Currently, Southeastern Elementary School has high enrollment in all grades. As you are aware, we are in the process of building a new elementary school, Deer Creek Elementary, which will be comprised primarily of former Durbin Elementary and Southeastern Elementary students.

As we consider redistricting needs, we are offering the option to attend Durbin Elementary School (DES) to families with incoming K-4th grade students residing in your neighborhood for the 2021-2022 school year. This will allow your family to begin building relationships with school peers and teachers who will be transitioning to Deer Creek Elementary once it opens.

If you are interested in this option, please complete the DES Transfer Application by following this link: DES Transfer Application

Approved transfer to DES offers students the following:

• Transportation: HSE Schools will provide bus transportation.

• Continuity: Students electing to transfer may attend DES through their 4th grade year, if applicable.

• Sibling Consideration: Siblings may also attend DES through their 4th grade year, if applicable.

If you select this option, you will receive written confirmation of your student’s voluntary transfer request by email within 5 business days of receipt of application.

PLEASE NOTE: This message is intended only for Blue Ridge Creek, Flagstone Woods, Summerland Park, Turnberry at the Park, and Waterman Crossing residents with students currently in grades K-3 (or with an incoming Kindergartener). You do not need to complete the transfer application if you want your student(s) to attend Southeastern Elementary School as scheduled.

Please contact Julie Hays, Student Services Coordinator, at jhays@hse.k12.in.us if you have questions.

If you would like your child to attend a different school other than your "home" school or if you have not taken possession of your home/apartment, you will need to submit a transfer appeal request.

Can I transfer if I live outside of the district?

Hamilton Southeastern Schools does NOT accept outside transfers.
