MetroNet Customers and iPad Connection issues
If your student cannot connect to the internet at home on a HSE rented iPad, please follow the provided instructions.
In your internet browser (IE/Chrome/Firefox) type the address 192.168.1.1 in the address bar and press enter.
This should take you to the Zyxel login screen below. If instead you see search results check to make sure you connected to the router, clear the website name from the address bar and try again.
Login to the router:
Once logged in click on the Maintenance icon located on the bottom left. The General tab should open automatically. Ensure that Domain Name is set to Zyxel.com. If a custom domain is needed for setup of special equipment or software this is also acceptable. See the list at the end of the document for domains that should not be used. If set to local or example.com this may cause issues connecting to the internet especially with Apple brand products.
Once done click Apply.
