Indiana State Museum Spring and Summer Camps REGISTRATION NOW OPEN!

8am - 4pm

Indiana State Museum invites your students to attend spring and summer camp! These camps are for 1st - 6th graders.

Spring camps are open now for registration. Summer camps will be available on March 1st.


Day Camps
Hours: 8a-4p, drop off between 8am-9am for free play
Cost: $55 for nonmembers. Members receive a 25% discount. If you have siblings in the same camp, there is a $5 discount. Scholarship rate:  $7 per camp; scholarship camp prices include camp, lunch, and a snack.
Registration deadline is 5pm the day before the camp. We have 20 spots available for each camp. All day camps are for campers entering 1st - 6th grades (students must be entering 1st-6th grade August 2021)
Radical Reptiles

Turtles, lizards, skinks, and snakes! What does it mean to be a reptile and how do they use some amazing biology to survive? Campers will make color-changing play-doh to explore the differences between cold-blooded and warm-blooded and learn how snakes move without legs.
Big Art

Do you have what it takes to create a really BIG piece of art? Find out as we work together to create murals and a community art piece.  You will be able to take mini mural home with you.

Let’s spend the day playing with bubbles! We’ll experiment with different bubble solutions, test wands, and even create art with bubbles. 
Ready Jet Go

We are jetting off to explore space with the help of Jet and Sunspot. Join us as we make a launcher, create a robotic arm to explore beyond Earth’s Atmosphere, and more as we put our engineering skills to the test.
Bead Creations
August 2, 2021
Perler, pony, and paper, oh my! We’ll create new designs with perler beads, make animals with pony beads, and even learn how to create beads with paper.
Fossil Discovery
August 3, 2021
Discover what it takes to find fossils and become a junior paleontologist. You’ll learn how to use the tools of the trade as you discover more about fossils. 
Week Camps

Racing into Summer | 1st – 3rd grade
June 7-11, 2021
Summer is here and we are on the move! We’ll explore the fastest (and slowest) ways to move throughout Indiana. From the canal to race car and everything in between, we’ll explore their engineering and how they work. Use what you’ve learned and your creativity to design your own new method of moving fast!
Tech Art & Design | 4th – 8th grade

Have you ever wanted your favorite saying on a t-shirt? Want to put your name on a water bottle? Take your creativity to the next level by exploring how technology can assist you in creating art. Explore different tech-based tools and apps and bring your designs to life during this week of designing and creating. 
Explore with PBS’s Molly of Denali | 1st – 3rd grade

Explore with 10-year-old Molly who lives north of Denali, Alaska. You’ll learn more about Alaska Native culture while playing a bead art game, practice problem solving skills as you help Molly and her friends get their dream tube and understand the importance of the past and family stories.
Time Traveler | 4th – 6th grade

Let’s travel through time! Each day we’ll visit a different time period in Earth’s history. From the ice age and beyond, we explore the history, culture, and technology as we create and build.
Superhero Science | 1st – 3rd grade

Speed, strength, and even invisibility! Each day, we’ll investigate a different superpower and the science behind what makes that superpower so special. You’ll take what you’ve learned to solve challenges based on using those superpowers.
Design Squad | 4th – 6th grade

Are you into technology, DIY projects, building, creating, and learning? Then this week is perfect for you. We’ll be busy creating as we explore a variety of STEM topics and solve engineering challenges.
Eco Explorers | 1st – 3rd grade

What is a naturalist and how do you become one? Explore, collect, and get inspired by the outdoors as we discover nature through observation, art, and experiments highlighting Indiana ecosystems.
Baking Bootcamp | 4th – 6th grade

Grab your apron and get ready to bake! Each day will feature a new baking or decorating challenge as you test your skills and learn new techniques.
YAT Theatre Camp: Stand Up | 4th – 8th grade
June 28-July 2, 2021
Join Young Actors Theatre (YAT) directors to create a one-of-a-kind performance experience about facing challenges and standing up for yourself and others against bullies. Visit the museum’s galleries, gain theatrical training, and create and perform a play about issues students face today.
Kid Cakes | 1st – 3rd grade

Icing, swirls, and yummy cake! You’ll learn how to make a cake, buttercream icing and royal icing. We’ll teach you some tricks of the trade to make your baked treats look top-notch.
Busting Myths | 4th – 6th grade

If you swallow gum does it really stay in your stomach for seven years? Can you pull off a tablecloth without breaking a plate? Using the scientific method we’ll experiment, explore and determine what is real or myth.
Artist in Training | 1st – 3rd grade
July 19-23, 2021
Paint, create, and make. We’ll paint in plein air like T.C. Steele and create a sculpture inspired by Robert Indiana. Each day we’ll explore a different style of art and make our own artwork inspired by Hoosiers artists.
Deconstruct It | 4th – 6th grade
July 19-23, 2021
Dive it and take it apart! Discover what it takes to make the items you use every day work. You’ll use real tools to reverse-engineer toys, home appliances, and even computers. Use your problem-solving skills to learn how it works and create something new out of the pieces and parts.
Best of the Best | 1st – 3rd grade

Are you ready for the 2021 summer games? Come compete in silly challenges, make a team flag, and design a logo for the ISM Best of the Best games.
Indiana Champions | 4th – 6th grade

Celebrate the tradition of the Olympics by learning about Indiana champions and participating in silly challenges for the mind and body.
