Students Resume ELearning Schedule

How long will eLearning be in place for students?

At this time, HSE Schools will hold eLearning from Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 27. Attendance will be taken by students logging into Canvas each eLearning day. There will be no eLearning days on waiver days (refer to the calendar above).

How will my student receive his/her class assignments?
Students will receive online instructional content provided by their teachers. These lessons will be interactive and relate to the curriculum for the specific class. Students will have access to their teachers via email or another method communicated by the teacher. On Monday, March 16 eLearning content will be communicated to students no later than noon. On all following eLearning days, content will be posted to Canvas no later than 9:00 a.m.
- For grades K-4, eLearning will be communicated in the eLearning section of the teacher’s Canvas course.
- For grades 5-12, eLearning will be communicated via the announcement section in Canvas.

As a general guideline, eLearning assignments/activities should take between 20-30 minutes per class/content area. At the K-4 level where assignments/activities blend across multiple content areas, teachers will communicate about how long the assignment/activity should take to complete. What if my student doesn’t have home Wi-Fi access?
You may access the HSE network via our dedicated outdoor Wi-Fi at New Britton Elementary and Geist Elementary Schools’ main parking lots.

What if my student’s rental device (iPad or laptop) is not working properly while schools are closed?
