May 11, 2022
The Hamilton Southeastern Board of School Trustees voted Wednesday to approve Jimmie Lake, Jr. as Chief Operations Officer. The position, created under the leadership of Superintendent Dr. Yvonne Stokes, will lead in identifying corporation goals and developing strategies to ensure the safety and support of students and staff.
Lake has an extensive background in higher education and healthcare operations. Since 2017, Lake has served as an adjunct professor at Anderson University, where he also later served as MBA Director. In that role, Lake developed strategies that increased student interest and program awareness to support student enrollment and retention.
Prior to his work as MBA Director at Anderson University, Lake was the Regional Manager of Practice Operations for Ascension Medical Group, where he oversaw administrative and clinical processes, financial and accounting activities of multi-site clinics with a budget of $10 million.
“Jimmie is an experienced leader who is focused on operational excellence and has proven that he can consistently deliver results,” said Superintendent Dr. Yvonne Stokes.
As part of his new role as Chief Operations Officer, Lake will supervise various administrative departments, to ensure safety metrics are developed and implemented to support all facets of Hamilton Southeastern Schools and the district’s vision.
“I am looking forward to the opportunity of building and cultivating relationships that will further support plans, strategies and tactics that build upon key aspects of the mission of Hamilton Southeastern Schools as ‘forward-thinking’ and ‘providing excellence in education’,” said Lake.
Lake received his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Anderson University and is currently working on his Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) at Anderson.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and four daughters.
