Enrollment (2022-2023 School Year)

Hamilton Southeastern Schools is the primary district for families living in Fishers, Indiana and portions of neighboring Noblesville, Indiana. HSE Schools serves students in preschool through 12th grade. To be eligible to attend HSE Schools, families must live within the HSE School District. HSE schools is the fourth largest district in Indiana with more than 21,600 students enrolled. The district is rated A by the Indiana Department of Education.

Hamilton Southeastern Schools serves a dynamic community that continues to experience residential growth. Currently, enrollment at Southeastern Elementary (serving Kindergarten—4th grade) and Hamilton Southeastern Intermediate/Junior High School (serving grades 5—8) is capped for the 2022-23 school year.
 
New enrollees to Southeastern Elementary will be assigned to attend Geist Elementary (serving K through 4th graders) for the 2022-23 school year.
 
Geist Elementary school is excited for the opportunity to welcome your families for the new school year! When completing the online enrollment process, please select Geist Elementary. Bus transportation will be provided for all students impacted by the enrollment cap.

Kindergarten Readiness

Welcome 2022-2023 Kindergarteners!  Children must be 5 years old on or before August 1, 2022 to attend kindergarten in the fall. HSE Schools has 13 elementary schools, each offering full-day kindergarten.  Click to Learn More!

Early Entrance to 1st Grade

HSE requires evidence of successful completion of a kindergarten program such as a report card and attendance report, or phone interview with the school director in order to enroll as “early entrance” to 1st grade.  Click to Learn More!

To enroll at HSE Schools, please follow the 3 steps below:

Step 1: 

Determine which school your student will attend by visiting our Google Map. The school your student will attend is determined by your home address. With the map, you may need to "zoom out" as the search result will zoom into your exact location. Zooming out will allow you to see the whole map. **Disclaimer:  If you are moving to a new area, it may not immediately populate on the Google map. In which case, calling the school to verify which school you will attend is recommended.  
 

Step 2:

Get your application started. It’s quite simple to enter your basic information and save your file to come back to when you have your other documents ready.  

  • State-issued Birth Certificate
  • Parent or Guardian Photo ID
  • Proof of Guardianship or Custody (if applicable)
  • Proof of Residency (Note: If you are not the homeowner or lease holder of the residence, please include the Affidavit of Residence (English or Spanish) in your enrollment application.
  • Current Immunization Records

Step 3: 

NEW HSE Families: CLICK HERE to create a NEW Skyward account. 

CURRENT HSE Families: If you are an existing family, adding a sibling, you will need to log into Family Access on Skyward. Select "new student online enrollment" in the upper left hand corner.

Please note: Existing families moving from grade to grade will not have to "enroll" - you will simply need to update your Back to School forms in Skyward, Back to School Forms 2022-23.

TRANSFER APPEAL PROCESS

If you would like your child to attend a different school other than your "home" school or if you have not taken possession of your home/apartment, you will need to submit a transfer appeal request.

Can I transfer if I live outside of the district?

Hamilton Southeastern Schools does NOT accept outside transfers.

Am I allowed to transfer to another school within the district?

If you are currently in the HSE district and want to transfer to another school, you must fill out a transfer appeal form. CLICK HERE to complete a Transfer Appeal. Paper transfer appeal forms will always be accepted as needed, however, completion of the online form is preferred.

What if my student completed their junior year of high school, but will be moving. Can they finish their last year at HSE?

Yes. Students who have completed their junior year at Fishers High School or Hamilton Southeastern High School may complete their senior year regardless of their residency. Students must provide their own transportation. If moving outside of the district, you must file a Transfer Appeal as listed above.
