Substitute Secretary Information


Thank you for your interest in being a substitute secretary for Hamilton Southeastern Schools!
 
The pay for substitute secretaries is $13.52 per hour. To apply for a substitute secretary position, the following steps must be followed: 

Step 1

If you are not a current HSE employee, submit and pay for a SafeHiring Solutions EXTENSIVE background check if you have not submitted one for HSE Schools since June 15, 2020.* If you have completed a background check for volunteering in our schools, this is not sufficient for employment.
 
The Indiana Department of Child Services check is a part of this background check.  After you complete the information through SafeHiring Solutions, you will receive two e-mails from KidTraks@dcs.in.gov within a few days.  One e-mail will contain a password to log in, and the other will contain the link to log in using that password.  It is very important that you complete this process as soon as possible.  If you did not receive the e-mails, please check your junk or spam e-mails.

Step 2
Apply on AppliTrack! - You will find the option of Substitute Secretary under the Position Desired tab of the application. E-mail addresses are REQUIRED on references on the application.

*If you do not submit a SafeHiring Solutions EXTENSIVE background check because you have done so for HSE Schools since June 15, 2020, please e-mail Beverly Kane at bkane@hse.k12.in.us after completing Step 2, or we will not know you have applied.

Step 3

Upon satisfactory completion of Steps 1 and 2, we will send your employment forms to you electronically via email. Please complete and submit these forms back electronically.

Step 4

Upon completion of Step 3, we will contact you to schedule an appointment for you to meet with Human Resources. Please bring to the meeting:

One of the following:
 
  • Unexpired passport, or
  • Unexpired driver’s license along with either Social Security card or birth certificate,
 
AND

Voided check or direct-deposit letter from bank.

After everything above has  been completed, we will send you your Absence Management log-in information and an invitation to set up your Frontline account so you can start to sub as a secretary for HSE Schools!
